whakaahua in te reo Māori is commonly known as "to photograph" or "photographer" — but within the deeper layers of our language, it speaks to something more profound: to uplift and honour the mana of a person’s āhua, their presence and essence.
that’s the intention behind my lens, to hold space & reflect back the beauty that already exists.

She really sees her subjects, capturing their essence within their image. That she is able to imbue her portraits with a confluence of both mana and vulnerability is testimony to her ability to make connections, to tell stories by showing
